Some dude named Obama will be giving something called the State of the Union address today. The very funny Patton Oswalt is having his birthday today as well. But I have to be honest I don’t care about those things. The only thing I care about will be announcement of Apple’s upcoming tablet computer. Whatever it’s called, whatever it does, I’m excited.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to rush out and buy it. That’s not my style. I’m not an early adopter, I’m a member of the early majority. Still, like I said, I’m excited. Steve Jobs and Apple have redefined the music industry, they’ve redefined the mobile space, what will they change next? I don’t think this new product will save the publishing industry in its current form. However, anything would be an improvement for beleaguered publishers.

I’ll have some updates and first impressions later today as well.
