Venture Publishing Inc, the company behind Alberta Venture magazine, releases its newest title Unlimited this September. Unlimited will be available at all major retailers in Alberta beginning September 17, 2007.
Unlimited launches as Canada’s newest and most dynamic magazine for the next generation of business leaders. The name Unlimited speaks to the evolution of business culture, the interplay of work and life and the idea of boundless opportunities.
At the helm are Associate Publisher, Joyce Byrne; Editor, Dan Rubinstein; and Art Director, Malcolm Brown. According to Malcolm Brown, whose award-winning designs include Outpost and Shift magazines, “It should come as no surprise that such a business magazine would come out of Alberta’s boom culture and growing artistic scene.”
Unlimited Readers: Unlimited is aimed at 20 to 35 year olds, an upwardly mobile and technology savvy generation. Beyond their trendsetting capabilities, these so-called “Millenials” possess significant spending power and have a very different outlook than previous generations.
Business-Cultural Trends: They work differently, think differently, and live differently. Most of all, this next generation of business leaders want balance. Balance blended with the desire for a career that has meaning and fulfillment. Dan Rubinstein, Editor for Unlimited and former Features Editor with Alberta Venture and Alberta Views, describes Unlimited as more than just a business magazine. “It’s a ‘work’ magazine, and a ‘life’ magazine, because the two terms are increasingly intertwined in our borderless, technology-driven world.”
Engaging Content: Unlimited features engaging, sophisticated, yet fresh content that appeals to students, entrepreneurs, and young professionals alike. Readers can check out topics ranging from money management, style & fashion, technology, and the workplace. Publisher Joyce Byrne knows what Unlimited readers expect. “Our audience demands interactive, high-quality content that is visually cutting-edge and speaks to their own experiences and ambitions.” Joyce Byrne is the former Publisher of the Toronto based This Magazine and moved out West in 2005 to join Alberta Venture.
Why the Next Generation matters: 5.6 million Millenials will flood Canada’s job market over the next ten years and will soon enough dominate the market. Unlimited will be there as the business life magazine, addressing those issues that are important to this emerging business demographic.
